in the generous life

Do it together.  No I’m not trying to be provocative.  I’m encouraging y’all to do things with your spouse.  Yes, it’s sometimes inconvenient.  Yes, it takes time out of your day that you could use on something else, but really isn’t your husband more important than dust bunnies or HGTV (Tivo it and watch it later)?

I just went shopping with my husband and he went along with me to Barnes and Nobles and I went along with him to a couple of hobby shops.  Yup, I’m tired and I could have used a little more B&N and less hobby, but the couple time was priceless.  We talked about all kinds of stuff and nonsense and our friendship (a very important part of marriage) is the stronger for it.

Friendship isn’t a big thing – it’s a million little things.  Author Unknown

My hubby and I go shopping together all the time. And not just for me, either. We are very tight and very close that way. And I wouldn’t trade it for anything. It’s a great way to spend time together just doing the normal day-to-day errands.

This is one area that I really appreciate my hubby, he likes to spend time just doing things together and I really do appreciate these times. Whether it is watching a new TV show together, cooking, cleaning, or just going to the laundry these are the special times when we just talk about things that come to mind, and help build our friendship.

I’m with you Lori! Robert, my husband, likes to drive – I don’t. So when he has time or can work in the vehicle as I shop, he’ll drive me places. It’s one of the most valuable times we have together because we’re a “captive” audience for each other.
