Have you ever had a child come up to you with a “spur of the moment” kind of wish, something like, “Mom, can we go dance in the sprinklers?” There is an excitement and desire to experience something wonderful. If you say yes, they brighten up and get all excited. If you say no, they feel crushed.
Well, our big guys are pretty much the same way. They may handle a no with more maturity and understanding, but how cool is it to say yes and join in on the wonderful adventure.
An adventure is only an inconvenience rightly considered. An inconvenience is only an adventure wrongly considered. G. K. Chesterton
