in the generous life

*** 2 days until Valentine’s Day ***

A fun addition to your bedroom play are lubricants.  They can add a little ease to just about everything you do as well as enhance some activities (like manual play).  There are silicone, water and oil based lubes. (Do not use oil based lubes with anything latex, like a condom, because it will break down the latex.  Silicone breaks down silicone objects.)  There are also scented, flavored and warming lubes.  A little variety can be fun.

If you’re concerned about where to buy products like this, try Book22 (a nice “no skin” Christian company).

My newly discovered fave is coconut oil… It’s pretty cheap – 1 litre costs that same as a small tube of the Durex lube and you can use it for lots more than lubricant. I find it doesn’t get sticky and it’s naturally anti-fungal and anti-bacterial – two things I really appreciate! One warning though – don’t use coconut oil with latex condoms or latex toys – it makes them disintegrate (like any oil based lubricant and latex will)
It’s also edible of course, and conditions your skin… No turning back for us!
I’m a big fan of multi-purpose products so I’m using coconut oil for everything! (Well, almost) check here for some other health benefits:

I agree wholeheartedly with the coconut oil! I am pretty sensitive to other lubricants and coconut oil works beautifully and tastes good (and is good for you) I warmed a small amount to liquify it and then poured it in a pretty little glass jar that seals to keep by the bedside… It is solid at room temperature, but it melts at around 86 degrees so liquifies quickly when it comes in contact with your skin. It works great for massages too!
