in the generous life

*** 3 days until Valentine’s Day ***

I was sitting on the toilet (TMI, sorry) and the thought came to invite my husband to lunch.  I gave a quick call (I was at a friend’s house) and suggested lunch at a local Thai restaurant (my husband loves trying different restaurants).  I think he was kind of tickled that I suggested it.  It said I wanted to join him in his kind of adventure and that I really wanted to spend time with him (quality time is one of his love languages).

It’s so nice to have someone invite you to do something.  It says they like you and want to spend time with you.  What a lovely message to give your sweetie.  If you can’t afford lunch out, pack a lunch and head to the nearest park or invite him to some other inexpensive/free function.  Just be the one doing the pursuing. He’s definitely worth it.

There is no surprise more magical than the surprise of being loved.   Charles Morgan

I needed this… lately I have been telling my hubby that I still want to be pursued… like back in the day! I forget that I can do some pursuing, too!! It’s hard with 4 little ones to get away for lunch, but I know I should make the effort!!

As a husband, I gotta say, this is one of the most meaningful things my wife can do to express love in a way that gets into my heart. Having my wife put time and energy into our relationship. Quality time is also one of my love languages.

Thanks for sharing a man’s point of view, Ivan. Women need to understand the importance of initiating and pursuing (it doesn’t’ always come naturally to us).
