Practical Kindness

January 20, 2011

in the generous life

I played with a cough all during recent travel.  Very early on we bought cough drops and I continually kept a handful in my pocket.  It wasn’t long before my husband started having a rough throat and a bit of a cough.  It was a simple thing to offer him a cough drop.  After it happened a couple of times my husband thanked me for being thoughtful about it and it became something he counted on.

It doesn’t take much to be kind, just a moment of thoughtfulness and a small action or word.  You just have to be aware and available.

Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.  Plato
