Be Bold

in the generous life

Yesterday’s tip about romance got me to thinkin’.  I think a part of my reticence in becoming romantic was a fear of failure.  It really does take work to know and understand your spouse (there are differences in gender, life experience, personality and more) and the road will include the occasional failure.  And when you’re as bad at is as I am, it’s a pretty daunting kind of challenge.

My encouragement to y’all (and to myself) is to be bold.  Romance your guy and keep on romancing him.  Yes, you will miss the mark now and then (probably quite a bit at first), but you learn as you go along.  In the long run your husband will feel known and loved.

Knowing is not enough; we must apply!  Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Just the act of trying means a lot to husbands. I love it when my wife steps out in this area. It is a little like watching a child ice skate for the first time. Even if my wife cannot do a triple axle, I am so proud of her for getting out and giving her best for me. When she does that, I adore for it.
