Emotional Health

in the generous life

Whew!  This is a hard one.  I’ve been on the journey for many years.  Years of abuse, neglect, hurts and bad choices left me in a painful mess.  Thankfully I wasn’t wrong about God being able to help and heal.  ;)

I have my favorite resources and ministries that have helped along the way, but I encourage you to look into resources in your area.  Talk to people who seem to be growing and healing.  What are they reading?  Who is helping and encouraging them?  Are there support groups in your area?  Don’t be afraid to check out nearby counselors (look for a good fit and don’t be afraid to say that something is not working and look elsewhere).  Pray, pray, pray and continue to look for help and resources.  God wants us to be whole and healthy.

(Please also check out The Generous Husband tip that I alluded to awhile back. It’s a nice idea for New Year goals.)
