in the generous life

No man is an island …  John Donne

We need relationships to be healthy (and healthy relationships are a lot more fun).  How are your relationships?  Is your marriage growing?  Do you have friends?  Are they good for you? Do you have someone to call when you are in need?  Are you there for your friends?  Do you have someone who you are accountable to (who can speak into your life)?  Are you lonely?   Do you have too many people in your life pulling you in all directions?

Spend some time in prayer and seek His direction for your relationships.  You may need to pull back on a relationship or look for a new friend.  You may need to pray and invest time in your marriage relationship.

This is a great reminder of one of our family goals this year. It just seems to be a lot of work, time and energy to develop friendships, not to mention real relationships with other moms and families. Will definitely be praying about this. Thank you for the reminder that this is a need and not something I’m just whining about: “not having any friends.”

Thank you for the encouragement. My close relationships are the ones I most neglect. It is time for me to do better.
