Holiday Fun

in the generous life

My husband, son and I are going to a local multi-church Christmas production. I’m looking forward to the time together as well as being able to support a group of churches working together in our community.

I encourage y’all to check out the “around town” section in the newspaper and find a fun freebie thing to do with your husband. This time of year there’s bound to be a concert in the mall, a play at a local theatre or church, or an area of town with some holiday light displays.

Gifts of time and love are surely the basic ingredients of a truly merry Christmas.  Peg Bracken

I love this idea and have always found great things for my kids and I to do that are free. But what are you supposed to do with the Bah Humbug husband, who’d rather “die” than sit through one of these things? It’s all I can do to get him to the kids’ Christmas concerts at school without grumbling.
He likes church, but is not thrilled when I drag him to Christmas Eve service because of all the extra Christmas songs. That’s the reason I like to go.
He’s a good guy, but if there are other people in the immediate area, and of course their are, he doesn’t want to be there. I like connecting. With him and others.
How can we do this together? I feel so alone in my adventures some times.

Love your newsletter. It helps me to keep on track and remember to be the wife I want to be, even if he grumbles once in a while. :)
