A Little Help

December 7, 2010

in the generous life

If you haven’t already, I encourage you to give your husband some idea of what you would like for Christmas (guys typically lose their minds over picking out gifts and it’s only kind to help them out, be clear and specific so your husband doesn’t feel that he has to read your mind). Then whatever he gives you, love it. Your husband put thought, time, effort and money into your gift. To accept his gift is to accept him. Love the gift because he gave it to you as an expression of his love and appreciation.

If it turns out you receive a particularly “unique” gift from him, just hug him and thank him and try to be a bit more specific the next time he needs gift ideas. Gift giving is an art to be learned and hubbies are learning just like we are.

God has given us two hands, one to receive with and the other to give with.   Billy Graham

So true! I made a wish list this year (for my Birthday of things that I would like – and Hubby put a lot of effort in tracking down the perfume that I wanted. I adore him for all the effort he put in (YSL don’t make it any more), and it makes the gift that much more special!
Speaking of giving. I am giving away 4 little note cards made with vintage wall paper. If you like that kind of thing, I would be glad to have you visit my blog.

Give with your whole heart! :)

Great advice! My wife gives me a list. So I get her what she wants for sure then I also pick out some stuff on my own so she gets a mix of both. I haven’t gotten her any really “unique” gifts yet thankfully:)
