Secret Signals

in the generous life

With the holidays coming it’s always a good idea to create a few word or hand signals between you and your husband. Lightly tapping the back of his hand might mean, “Time to go?” or “Please rescue me from this difficult situation!”  Do create a few fun ones as well.  It’s nice to have those secretive couples moment when a tug on the ear can mean, “I love you ” or “Meet me in the bedroom.”

It is as if the ordinary language we use every day has a hidden set of signals; a kind of secret code.  William Stafford

I love this idea, we already have a few signals, but I can see how adding a few more will be helpful for both of us!

My wife has this problem where she get food stuck in between here two front teeth. We developed this signal to tell her in the presence of others that it’s there. Funny thing is – I haven’t had hair in years yet we haven’t changed the ‘run hair through fingers’ signal!
