Gift Notebook

in the generous life

Another gift giving idea (and this is for year round giving as well as those “just because” gifts) is to keep a notebook for jotting down ideas.  When your husband mentions that he likes something write it down.  Write down his likes and dislikes, his clothing sizes and more.  Then when you need gift ideas you have a pool of information to start with. It’s also helpful to have a place to stash gifts (hide them behind the tax records).  I keep an eye on sales (especially after holiday sales) and pick up little things here and there.

I use a notebook for all my gift giving.  It’s even helpful to write down what you give as gifts so that you don’t accidentally give the same gift twice. I also note how well a gift is received (my daughter loves gift certificates because it gives her shopping pleasure as well as the gift she wants).

May no gift be too small to give, nor too simple to receive, which is wrapped in thoughtfulness, and tied with love.  L.O. Baird

I always mean to do this, but thanks for the reminder! :)
