Think Sex

September 18, 2010

in the generous life

Think about sex during the day (if you need to, leave yourself little reminders around the house – like heart stickers).

For a lot of women it’s hard to make the jump to being sexual after a long, busy, and non-sexual kind of day (diapers and dishes are not aphrodisiacs). If you think about sex (and maybe even plan for it) during the day, it will be easier to be interested and available later.

Come away, my lover, and be like a gazelle or like a young stag on the spice-laden mountains.  Song of Songs 8:14 NIV

Linda Dillow (co-author of Intimate Issues book) used to write TS on her calendar to remind her to Think Sex. I heard a cute variation last week: a gal who would say she had an “UP” kind of day because she would wear her Uncomfortable Panties that rubbed and reminded her all day to think about loving her husband.

Diapers and dishes are not the only anti-aphrodisiacs! Teens and menopause (whether surgical or natural) are also extremely big aphrodisiacs. I wish someone would address these issues and quit giving everyone the idea that you have to be young (dealing with diapers and pre-schoolers) in order to desire sex. Lack of libido comes from lots of things and some of it is has absolutely nothing with what you “think” about.

And how do I encourage my husband to be available and interested? I’m always available and interested….
