Menu of Choices

July 26, 2010

in the generous life

Choices are fun.  It’s nice to have options and you usually get to do something that you enjoy.

As a fun idea, why not create different menus for your husband and give him the choice of what to do.  You could do date menus, bedroom activity menus, or meal menus, just to name a few.

Don’t wait for extraordinary opportunities. Seize common occasions and make them great.  Orison Swett Marden

This is a great tactic I’ve found for getting Gary involved in decision making. Especially back when we were in Wedding Planning Mode. If there’s something I know he’s not going to have a strong opinion on, but I want his input, I try to choose 2 or 3 solutions I like equally well and then ask him which he prefers. Once he’s chosen, I accept it and implement it.

He loves this. It works really well in all kinds of situations.

Great tip!

I used this in wedding planning mode too! That way we both felt like we had a voice in what was happening.
