Simplicity and Smores

July 16, 2010

in the generous life

In the USA it’s summertime and families often take vacations.  In order to remain sane (and remain a pleasant wife and mom), I encourage y’all to simplify, simplify, simplify.  Save a few dollars and stay closer to home.  Take a couple of short trips rather than one long exhausting one.  Simplify meals and snacks.  Cut back on what you do and take time to fully enjoy a few simple things.  Build a sandcastle.  Watch the sunset.  Make smores.  It’s the simple stuff that makes for the best memories anyhow.

Oh, and take lots of pictures to enjoy later.  Revisiting the fun is half the pleasure.

It is a happy talent to know how to play.  Ralph Waldo Emerson
