in the generous life

One of the things that I have generally worked toward is being calm regardless of the circumstances. I pray for that kind of calm and I routinely keep an eye on my behavior, voice, etc. Now, please understand, that I’m not perfect. It’s just a goal of mine and I’m growing in that ability. I think it’s a good gift to give to your husband, kids, friends, etc.

So as a suggestion, I encourage y’all to watch how you act and speak. Don’t expect perfection, just make being calm a general goal, learn from your mistakes, and keep practicing and learning.

Thank you so much for this suggestion. Pray and keep an eye on it! I can get so frustrated when a simple discussion escalates because of repeated communication problems. Repeated. I hear myself getting more and more frustrated and feel so helpless. Tabling issues doesn’t work; pressure to keep going…grrr. I just want to CALMMMMMMMMMLY respond and work my way through the discussion. Why do I do this? Partly my voice level increases when I feel intensely about something, or when I don’t feel understood, or when I feel ignored while expressing myself. I am definitely going to pray about this. Thanks.
