in the generous life

My husband and son picked up a dryer today.  It was way high on my priority list and my guys made major points with that one.

I just realized that my husband has a list of things that are important to him as well.  One of them is curtains for a particular window (light control issues).  I’ve been putting it off (not sure why), but I’m moving it to the top of the list.

What is important to your husband?  Is there something that he needs for you to do?  Be generous and don’t put it off any longer.

Remember there’s no such thing as a small act of kindness.  Every act creates a ripple with no logical end.  Scott Adams

Man, I feel like most of what I do in my life is for my husband and it’s driving me crazy because it’s always HIS priorities that seem to matter, not mine! Been married nearly a year and still adjusting and trying to balance things out but it’s HARD to balance things out when you’ve moved away from all your friends and your husband either doesn’t have time for or doesn’t want to or can’t be there for you emotionally and mentally. You might say Im not taking time for me, but it’s almost like my husband doesn’t realize there IS a me so when I need me time, he doesn’t understand and so it’s a “bad” thing. Also, he works 5am-5:15pm and gets weekends off and I work nights and weekends! So if I DO have a night off, he’s tired and I want to hang out with him and while he might want to spend time with me, he wants to sleep more. *sigh I understand that if I am kind to him dispite myself, it’s good and he really appreciates it but it’s hard to be kind and understanding when I get no understanding of my own!
