It’s About Him

Filed under: dealing with self, encouragement, spirituality — The Generous Wife @ 1:30 am

Today I was hanging out with a bunch of gals and with few exceptions they were hurting - mostly about their poor sense of self worth and they were fighting fears and doubts.   And, honestly, this evening I was having some doubts about myself as well.  It was like someone was playing bad tapes in my head ("I'm doing a terrible job" "I can't do that" ad nauseum).  I had to give myself the same pep talk that I gave the gals I'd been talking to earlier.

It's not about you, it's about Him.  If there is something you don't know, you can ask Him.  If there's something you can't do (or think you can't do), talk to Him for His wisdom and direction.  Ask God for forgiveness when you mess up and then actually believe you are forgiven.  Don't let the enemy take you out with his condemnation, shame and lies. Don't let him discourage you in your walk with the Lord and your relationships.  You can be a generous wife (I didn't say perfect, I said generous, it's a lifestyle).  Yes, you really can.

And I'm so happy, So very happy, I've got the love of Jesus in my heart.  And if the Devil doesn't like it He can sit on a tack! ... lyrics from I've Got the Joy In My Heart

Be generous!  Lori <><

  1. At church last Sunday morning 2 guys did a skit. The point of the skit is about how God doesn’t make junk. Seemed relevant. :)

  2. Thank you for the reminder. I at times beat myself up too. I haven’t heard that song for a long time. It made me smile.
