in the generous life

In the USA we’re approaching Thanksgiving Day.  I saw an article in a magazine once where a gal had crafted a tree out of construction paper and taped it to the side of her refrigerator.  She cut out a bunch of leaf shapes, in fall colors, and then she and her family listed the things that they were thankful for on the leaves, which were then taped to the tree.  It was a fun family thing to do that helped them all realize how much they had to be thankful for.

There’s just something about be thankful that changes the heart.  Whether it’s Thanksgiving or not in your neck of the woods, or whether or not you are creative or even have the time to make a tree – why not at least take a moment and write out what you are thankful for.  Please make a point of considering the things about your husband for which you are thankful.

God has two dwellings; one in heaven, and the other in a meek and thankful heart. Izaak Walton

I am creative haha… We are going to use pretty fall colored paper (maybe some patterned scrap book pages too) and cut them into leaf shapes on which to write things we are thankful for. Then attatch each leaft to brown pipecleaners (maybe a few real sticks too for interest??)and arrange them to make a REAL tree in a vase to use as our centerpiece for Thanksgiving dinner! I plan on saving the tree until next year where we can look back and see how far God has brought us and how much He has blessed us!! (And add to it of course!!)
