in the generous life

Boy, howdy, learning to like sex has been an adventure for me (not always the good and fun kind).  I was sexually abused as a kid, acquaintance raped as an adolescent, first marriage was difficult (a euphemism for unbelievably hurtful) and finally landed in a good and safe relationship with my sweetie.  A lot of unlearning and learning later, sex is good and something to look forward to.

All the painful memories were certainly a problem where sexuality was concerned, but what I have found to be the most serious of obstacles were my own “permissions.”  We all have sets of beliefs (mostly formed when we were but wee ones) and those beliefs ride shot gun on what we allow ourselves to do and not do, enjoy, not enjoy, etc.  I had to watch my own reactions to life and sexuality and then take them apart and challenge each one of them.  (Oh, and forgiveness helps a lot ~ others and self.)

God is very pro-sex in marriage.  Give yourself permission to explore and enjoy sex with your husband.  If you find yourself holding back, ask yourself why and let God help you sort things out.

Drink and imbibe deeply, O lovers. Song of Songs 5:1b  NAS

Be generous!  Lori <><

This very thing is what I think saved our sex life in my marriage! Because of your willingness to share your testimony and journey to healing it has totally changed my marriage. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! God has used you tremendously … in ways you can never imagine! Blessing as you and Paul continue such an amazing and God breathed ministry.
