Husband First

in the generous life

Do something for your husband first.  Hand him dessert first.  Tell him the good news first.  Let him take a shower first.  Let him know that you value him and that he is special to you.

A little consideration, a little thought for others, makes all the difference. Winnie the Pooh

Just today my husband made a comment about an area of our house that he would prefer to be different but he said he had decided he was willing to live with it. He wasn’t even asking me to change it. It was just a comment during a conversation. I didn’t realize it was even a problem with him until we were talking today. So during my day I made the very simple change that he had said, even though he said he was “OK” with it staying the way it was. When he noticed I had changed it he was very touched because of the fact that I was willing to change something “just for him”. He said it really made him feel special. There are so many ways we can do things to help our man feel special!

This is most important especially when we feel empty of any motivation or energy to give. It helps to take the focus off of what we lack and puts it onto a more possitive track of what we CAN do no matter how small. And surprisingly, these small acts of kindness will begin to fill our souls with blessing. So much so, it pours out onto others around us.

Pay it forward!

i’ve been looking for those conversation cards that you talked about in a previous post, but i couldn’t find them…now when I would like to search for them again I can’t remember the name of them. Can you help me out please.

Thank you for the Husband First post. I see the smile on my husband’s face and his eyes light up when I consider him first. It makes me happy and I enjoy it.

@ joyjam ~
I’m on the road at the moment, but when I get home I will check the box and repost the info (as I remember their site was being worked on, hopefully it is functional now).
