Catch Those Little Foxes

May 23, 2009

in the generous life

Sometimes being sexual is about having enough emotional and physical energy.  What are the things that are exhausting you?  Do you have too many things to do or too much responsibility (are you too busy)?  Are you physically too tired or too emotionally overwhelmed (are you taking care of yourself)?

I encourage y’all to take a couple of days to think and pray about your time use and self care.  You must take care of yourself first so that you will have the energy to take care of others.  Being happy and healthy makes it easier to be a good lover to your husband.

Catch for us the foxes, the little foxes that ruin the vineyards … Song of Songs 2:15  NIV

I tend to think that taking care of myself might be viewed as selfish to the spouse, I know it is not true, and he would instead appreciate it very much. I get so caught up in everyday life…I will be praying about this. Thank you for this post!

Thank you Lori for this tip this morning!
I actually got up early to pray (already distracted but this put me back on track) about all the stuff rattling around in my life and how to make it work. I realized I wasn’t taking it before the Lord. So I will do this to take the time to capture those “foxes.” I have been tense, tired, pulled in way to many directions and lacking sex drive. My list is so long I won’t rattle it off . I will pray for others as they do this and ask for prayer myself….. cause the bottom line is I want to be walking with the Lord’s direction and strengthen not my own.

Happy Memorial Day!

Sometimes taking time to take care of yourself will actually take some change in how you feel about youself. If you feel unattractive on the inside you probably are protraying that same attitude on the outside as well. This is one time that I say do something on the outside and see if it doesn’t change the inside at the same time. Take care in how you look. Get out of those sweats (unless you’re off to the gym), brush your hair and put on some blush and mascara. There is something about feeling pretty on the outside that boosts our spirits and changes our attitudes about everything especially our love lives.

Take an extra step and put on some pretty underthings. There’s something about lace underneth that makes our jeans and t-shirts feel just a little prettier and sexier. ;)

Take care of yourselves and remember… “you are God’s masterpiece”!
