There is a mom and pop restaurant about a block from my home. My husband and I make time now and then to visit and share a dessert. We talk about different discussions we are a part of on bulletin boards. We talk about the kids or the garden. We share our thoughts, generally laugh a lot, and just love on each other with encouraging words.
Not everyone has a restaurant a block from their home, but you can share a treat and you can find some time to talk, share about the things you are involved in, laugh a bit and love on each other. What you do may not look at all like what my husband and I do. You might have to sneak a treat in the bedroom after the kids are in bed. You might have to talk by phone or email (God bless those folks who are serving in the military). Maybe you'd rather talk as you snuggle in bed or as you share a drive to work. The idea is to make that time for each other. Share the ordinary things of life and love on each other a bit.

My husband has a few things that he typically runs out of (post-its, pens and this facial scrub). Don't know why it happens, it just does.
So as a tip idea, why not take note of the items your husband tends to run out of and make that something that you check on shopping day. Perhaps even buy a few extra as an emergency stash.

Several wives have recently told me about how they leave messages for their husbands, usually on the bathroom mirror, with white board markers. I've mentioned it here before, but it bears repeating because it is such a simple idea that has a lot of creative applications. The markers come in a number of colors and are easy to clean up too. (Please feel free to use the comment ability to share your marker ideas.)
